OVERVIEW
The Deputy Director works directly underneath the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the FACC in the Los Angeles area, engaging members and others to achieve maximum community impact, and ensuring a stable and sustainable financial future.
You will skillfully represent the organization to partners, prospects and the public, and will continually seek out new opportunities and avenues for support and growth, allowing the organization to expand its scope and impact.
SCOPE OF WORK
Memberships
Maintain strong relationships with current Members and respond to their needs.
Drive the development of the members’ database.
Promote, improve and help create all membership programs and industry specific committees for the area, through consistent, proactive engagement opportunities.
Events and Communication
Develop a proper event offer to satisfy Members / Community needs.
Manage the event calendar for the Los Angeles region.
Ensure a budget safe event offer / Optimize the ROI of events.
Take the lead on our flagship/fundraising events and ensure they are successful.
Work closely with the Communication manager on newsletters, social media platforms and website updates.
Corporate Services
Help develop and promote the corporate services: trade missions, business hosting, recruitment center, consulting services to French businesses…
Ensure proper representation of the organization in France to promote and develop this activity.
Strategy and Planning
Lead efforts to run an effective and coordinated organization.
Identify best practices and improve internal systems & operations with an eye towards future needs.
Collaborate with Executive Director to set strategy and build the annual budget.
Community Impact and Relations
Support and extend community impact, services and activities in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Deputy Director San Francisco, and the Board of Directors.
Present and promote the organization and its mission, programs, partners, and members in a consistent and positive manner. Ensure high visibility to prospects and the public in the US and in France.
Organizational Management
Drive development and fundraising to meet organizational goals and objectives, leveraging the Board as needed.
Ensure organization's financial stability and sustainability by maintaining healthy cash flow and adequate reserves, under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Board.
Develop an organizational infrastructure to support and promote current strategy and goals, effectively anticipating changes and planning for growth.
Future requirements may include hiring and staff management.
Once the organization grows locally, ensure it has the appropriate systems, physical space, and technology to operate efficiently and effectively.
REQUIREMENTS
Fluency in both spoken and written English and French.
Eligibility to work in the US (US work permit required, we do not sponsor visa).
Experience in a role with comparable or complementary responsibilities.
Experience managing events of all sizes including large scale events.
Sales and business development skills, capability of pitching & selling.
Strong understanding of the local French American Business Ecosystem.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with executives, senior management, and external stakeholders.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, natural networker, “people person” excited about actively engaging with members.
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, high energy level, integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, and a sense of humor.
Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Adaptability: this is a small size organization; flexibility is a must.

Compensation: $50,000 + Bonus
